Bhurtel became the second Nepali batter to breach 1,000 runs in T20I

Kushal Bhurtel became the second batter for Nepal to cross 1,000 runs marks in T20 Internationals on March 12, 2024.

Bhurtel, playing his 36th match in his T20I career, reached the landmark while batting against Papua New Guinea at Mong Kok, Hong Kong on Tuesday.

He managed a half-century before getting caught for 59 runs from 39 deliveries, including 4 fours and 4 sixes.

Kushal, 27, right-handed opening batter made T20I debut against Netherlands at Kirtipur on April 17, 2021.

In his three-years T20I careers, he has scored one T20I hundred and 8 fifties with a strike rate of 132.8.

Dipendra Singh Airee became the first batter to hit 1,000 runs in T20I for Nepal.
