ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 is back on Nepal's calendar, with the Cricket Association of Nepal announcing a fresh set of home fixtures at TU International Cricket Ground after the earlier March series was postponed.
As per the new schedule released by CAN on Tuesday, Nepal, UAE and Oman are set to play the first six-match tri-series from April 25 to May 5. Nepal are scheduled to face UAE on April 25 and May 1, and Oman on April 29 and May 5. UAE and Oman will meet on April 27 and May 3.
A second League 2 window is then announced from May 12 to May 22, featuring Nepal, Scotland and the USA. Nepal are scheduled to play Scotland on May 12 and May 18, and the USA on May 16 and May 22. Scotland and the USA will meet on May 14 and May 20.
All matches are set to start at 9:30 AM at TU International Cricket Ground.
The announcement comes after Nepal's planned CWCL2 matches against UAE and Oman, originally due to begin on March 10 in Kathmandu, were postponed until further notice because of the situation in the Middle East. CAN had said the delay was caused by wider regional disruption, with travel plans affected by airspace closures and safety concerns.
Before the postponement was confirmed, Cricnepal had reported that the series was already in doubt as UAE’s travel plans came under review amid Gulf airspace disruption. The uncertainty had threatened the start of a crucial League 2 leg in Nepal.
The return of the fixtures gives Nepal a renewed home opportunity in a competition that remains central to the 2027 ODI World Cup qualification pathway. When the postponement was announced, Nepal were seventh in the League 2 standings with 12 points from 20 matches, while Oman were fourth with 24 and UAE eighth with 10.
For Nepal, the revised home stretch could become one of the defining phases of their League 2 campaign. A full block of matches in Kirtipur against UAE, Oman, Scotland and USA offers both a recovery from the March disruption and a major chance to build momentum on home soil.
Currently, Nepal sit seventh with 12 points from 20 matches. Oman are fourth with 24 points, while the UAE are eighth with 10.
