Defending champions Janakpur Bolts unveil retained players for NPL 2

The defending champions of Nepal Premier League (NPL), Janakpur Bolts, have officially unveiled the list of players they have retained for the second season of the tournament. The team, which made history by defeating Sudurpaschim Royals in a thrilling final to clinch the inaugural NPL title, has opted to retain a strong core of players, including their marquee player, Aasif Sheikh.

The Bolts have kept seven players on their roster ahead of NPL 2. This includes the team's captain from season one, Anil Sah, who led Janakpur to victory, as well as standout bowler Lalit Rajbanshi, who was named the best bowler of the first season. Other players retained are Rupesh Singh, Kishore Mahato, Shubh Kansakar, and Tul Bahadur Thapa.

However, the team has made some surprising decisions in their release list. Sher Malla, who had a significant impact in Janakpur’s successful campaign, along with Hemant Dhami, Aakash Tripathi, Bishal Sushling, Mayan Yadav, and Arniko Yadav, have been released.

Last year, the Bolts made headlines with the signing of Kiwi allrounder Jimmy Neesham, who quickly became a fan favorite in Nepal. His contributions played a crucial role in the team's triumph, marking his first-ever professional trophy.

Only Biratnagar Kings remains to unveil their list of retained players as seven franchises have already unveiled the retained players list.
