Dipendra Singh Airee to captain Nepal in historic Under Lights T20I series against UAE

Dipendra Singh Airee will lead Nepal in the upcoming two-match Under Lights T20I series against the UAE, with the Cricket Association of Nepal naming a 15-member squad for the historic home series.

The matches are scheduled for April 20 and 21 at TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. They are set to be Nepal's first men's home internationals under floodlights, adding extra significance to Airee's appointment as captain for the short series.

The squad includes several of Nepal's established T20 names. Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, Sundeep Jora, Aarif Sheikh and Basir Ahamad are all part of the main group, while Gulshan Jha, Lokesh Bam, Nandan Yadav, Santosh Yadav, Arjun Saud, Hemant Dhami, Shahab Alam and Sher Malla complete the squad. Pratis GC, Narayan Joshi and Rashid Khan have been named as reserves.

Airee's captaincy call comes at a time when he remains one of Nepal's most important white-ball players. His appointment also gives Nepal a slightly different leadership setup ahead of a busy home window that includes both T20Is and Cricket World Cup League 2 action.
The UAE series will serve as Nepal's final tune-up before the rescheduled League 2 tri-series against UAE and Oman begins in Kirtipur on April 25.
