Hemant Dhami became the 54th cricketer to represent Nepal men's team in T20 internationals after making his debut against the United Arab Emirates in Kirtipur on April 20, 2026.
The right-arm fast-medium bowler received his first T20I cap in Nepal's series opener against the UAE, adding another step to his rise in national colours. Dhami had already made his ODI debut for Nepal on February 12, 2024, against Canada, also in Kirtipur.
Dhami's inclusion comes after a strong run in domestic cricket, where he built his case through performances in the Prime Minister Cup and other competitions. He is also known for his appearances in age-group cricket for Nepal and for representing Sudurpashchim Province and Sudurpaschim Royals in the Nepal Premier League.
His call-up reflected Nepal's interest in expanding their pace options as they entered a busy home international window. The T20I debut also gave Dhami exposure in a format where Nepal continue to test depth and develop players around their established core.
Although Nepal lost the first match to the UAE in a rain-affected contest, the game still marked a personal milestone for Dhami, who now joins the list of players to have represented Nepal in both ODIs and T20Is.
For the 24-year-old seamer, the debut is another reward for steady progress through domestic and pathway cricket, and an opportunity to push for a bigger role in Nepal's white-ball plans.
