Indu Barma becomes first Nepali Women cricketer to reach 1000 T20I runs

Nepal Women's captain Indu Barma has etched her name into cricket history by becoming the first Nepali woman cricketer to score over 1000 runs in T20 Internationals (WT20Is).

The 28-year-old achieved the milestone during Nepal's fourth T20I against Malaysia Women at the Bayuemas Oval, where she played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 48 runs to help Nepal level the series 2–2.

With 1033 runs in 77 matches, Barma surpassed Sita Rana Magar’s previous record of 965 runs to become Nepal’s all-time leading run-scorer in Women’s T20 Internationals.

Since making her debut in 2019, Indu has been a consistent performer for Nepal, contributing with both bat and ball. Known for her calm temperament and leadership under pressure, she has played pivotal roles in many of Nepal's most memorable victories.
