KATHMANDU: Janakpur Bolts have released marquee player Aasif Sheikh ahead of the 2026 Nepal Premier League season.
The franchise announced its retained and released players list on Thursday. Janakpur have retained five players for the upcoming edition.
Captain Anil Sah, Mayan Yadav, Lalit Rajbanshi, Aditya Mahata and Bikash Agri will continue with the team.
Janakpur were the winners of the first edition of the NPL. They defeated Sudurpaschim Royals in the final to lift the title.
But the Bolts struggled in the second edition and exited from the league stage.
For the upcoming NPL season, teams are allowed to retain up to six players apart from their marquee player.
The NPL mini auction is also expected to take place soon.
