Karnali Yaks retain seven players for Nepal Premier League Season 2

Karnali Yaks has officially revealed the list of retained players for the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), keeping seven players from their inaugural squad.

Among the retained names is marquee player and captain Sompal Kami, who will lead the team once again. The list also includes star all-rounder Gulshan Jha, along with pacer Nandan Yadav, who has been making headlines lately for his impressive performances.

The franchise has also decided to retain four promising talents from the Karnali region itself - Arjun Gharti, Dipendra Rawat, Unish Bikram Singh Thakuri, and Bipin Sharma. Bipin, in particular, was selected through the Talent Hunt program, and was impressive in the first season, winning emerging player of the tournament.

 

However, in a somewhat surprising move, the franchise has chosen not to retain Dev Khanal. Additionally, Bhuwan Karki, Rit Gautam, Mausam Dhakal, and Dipak Dumre have been released ahead of the new season.

Karnali Yaks made quite an impact in their debut season, especially after signing Indian cricket superstar Shikhar Dhawan, who helped them gain significant attention. The team had a solid run, making it to the playoffs in the inaugural season.
