Kushal Bhurtel's explosive unbeaten knock of 92 off 54 balls, featuring six sixes and seven fours, powered Nepal to a total of 170 runs in the first innings of the second T20I against the United States at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas, on Sunday.
Bhurtel's last fifty (59) in T20Is came against P.N.G. on March 12, this year, as a opener however, 15 innings later, he finally came blazing at Number 3 for Nepal with an unbeaten knock of 92 runs. He reached his ninth half-century off 33 balls, smashing four boundaries and three sixes along the way.
Bhurtel also set a personal record for the most sixes in a T20I innings, surpassing his previous best of five, achieved against the Netherlands and Malaysia at Kirtipur on April 17 and 19 in 2021, respectively.
Anil Sah added 25, while Gulshan Jha and Rohit Paudel contributed 19 (12) and 18 (14) runs. Karan KC finished the innings with a six off the last ball, helping Nepal post their highest T20I total against the USA.
For the USA, Jasdeep Singh and Nosthush Kenjige claimed two wickets each.
