Nepal have scripted the greatest chapter in their cricketing journey, defeating two-time world champions West Indies 2–1 in a three-match T20 International series in Sharjah. The triumph marks Nepal’s first-ever bilateral series victory against a Full Member nation.
1st T20I – Nepal stun West Indies
The series began with a stunning upset as Nepal defended a modest total to secure a 19-run win. Batting first, they posted 148/8, led by captain Rohit Paudel's 38 and Kushal Malla's 30. In reply, West Indies faltered against disciplined Nepali bowling. Kushal Bhurtel (2/17) and sharp fielding efforts restricted the visitors to 129 all out, sparking wild celebrations both in Sharjah and back home.
2nd T20I – Sheikh & Jora inspire record win
Nepal sealed the series in the second game with a commanding 90-run victory, their largest margin ever in T20Is against a Full Member. Aasif Sheikh (68)* and Sundeep Jora (63) added a record 100-run stand for the fourth wicket, powering Nepal to 173/6.
On his return to the side after three years, Mohammad Aadil Alam produced a dream spell of 4/24, while Bhurtel cleaned up the tail with 3/16. West Indies were bundled out for just 83, their sixth-lowest T20I total.
This match delivered several milestones: Nepal's maiden series win over a Test-playing nation, the biggest-ever Associate victory over a Full Member, and standout individual performances that will be remembered for years.
3rd T20I – West Indies hit back
The Caribbean side salvaged pride in the final T20I, cruising to a 10-wicket win after Nepal managed just 122. Kushal Bhurtel (39) top-scored again, while an experiment to promote Kushal Malla as opener backfired as he struggled for 12 off 21. West Indies chased the target down in only 12.2 overs without losing a wicket, ending the series 2–1.
