Nepal to play a historic T20I series against West Indies

Nepal is set to play a historic series as they take on West Indies in a landmark T20I series in September. The three-match T20I series will be played in Sharjah, UAE.

This marks the first-ever bilateral T20I series between Nepal and the world champions. West Indies team has twice lifted the ICC T20 World Cup, in 2012 and 2016.

The matches will be held on September 27, 28, and 30 at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium, offering Nepal a golden opportunity to test themselves against one of the powerhouses of the shortest format.

This series will serve as vital preparation for Nepal ahead of the T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier, which is scheduled for October in Oman. Facing a full-strength West Indies squad will be a significant boost for team Nepal as they aim to secure a spot in the next T20 World Cup.

Nepal last faced a West Indies side in April-May 2024, when they hosted the West Indies A team for a five-match T20 series. The competitive series ended 3-2 in favor of the visitors and was hailed as a landmark moment in Nepal’s cricketing journey.

With the upcoming series in Sharjah, which has similar atmosphere as Oman, Nepal will not only look to challenge a world-class opponent but also gain valuable match experience ahead of one of their most crucial qualification campaigns.
