Nepal’s new head coach Stuart Law arrives in Kathmandu

Nepal’s newly appointed head coach, Stuart Law, has arrived in the country to officially begin his tenure with the national cricket team. The former Australian cricketer landed in Kathmandu on Friday night, where he was welcomed by Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) spokesperson Chummbi Lama and Cricket Manager Binod Das.

Law, who was announced as head coach on March 28, takes over from Monty Desai. He has signed a two-year contract with CAN, aiming to build on Nepal’s recent progress on the international stage.

His first major assignment begins almost immediately, with a 52-player core camp set to start from April 26. As part of the camp, the players have been divided into four teams, which will compete against each other in a series of matches. The purpose of the camp is to assess and groom players for future national duty, with Law closely observing the talent on display.

Law's appointment comes at a crucial time as Nepal looks to strengthen its squad ahead of upcoming international tournaments. Currently, Nepal is in the second position from the bottom in CWC League 2 with just two wins from 12 matches.
