Nepal Cricket Association secretary and former captain Paras Khadka has hailed Nepal's long awaited ICC Men's T20 World Cup win, saying the result should be seen as a starting point rather than an end.

Nepal's victory in their final match ended a 12 year wait for a World Cup win since 2014, and Khadka believes the performance showed what this team is capable of when they play to their strengths.

"Now the big task is consistency"

Speaking to Kantipur TV, Khadka said Nepal have shown they can play quality cricket on the world stage, but the next step is producing those performances consistently.

He pointed to the team's improved approach and the confidence gained from this campaign, adding that Nepal must keep developing consistency if they want to build real momentum in future tournaments.

Focus shifts to ODI cricket and upcoming CWCL2 matches

With the World Cup campaign over, Khadka said Nepal now have to quickly reset and shift attention to ODI cricket, with important ODI League matches coming up.

He acknowledged the players could be mentally and physically tired after a demanding tournament, but stressed that sustained hard work and clear preparation is essential for Nepal's next phase.

A message to fans: turn emotions into positive support

Khadka also addressed the role of social media in Nepal cricket, urging supporters to stay positive and responsible.

He said praise and criticism are part of sport, but abuse can become a distraction and hurt players mentally. His message was simple: support the team, be sensitive in how you comment, and help build the players up rather than tear them down.

"Nepal jerseys everywhere in Mumbai" - fans earned global praise

Khadka highlighted the impact of Nepal's supporters during the tournament, recalling how Nepal jerseys were visible across Mumbai for days and how the match atmosphere drew praise from many in the cricket community.

He called the fans a major strength of Nepal cricket and thanked everyone for standing with the team.
