Nepal leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane is set to return to the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) after seven years, signing for Rajshahi Warriors ahead of the league's 12th edition (BPL 2026).
The franchise announced the move on social media, welcoming him as "Himalayan Magic" as they continue to build a squad capable of challenging for the title.
This will be Lamichhane's second stint in the BPL. He previously turned out for Sylhet Sixers in the 2018β19 season, playing six matches and taking four wickets. Since then, he has become one of the most recognisable associate stars on the global T20 circuit, appearing in tournaments such as the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Big Bash League (BBL) and Global T20 Canada.

At international level, the 25-year-old is a mainstay of Nepal's attack in both ODIs and T20Is. His T20I numbers are outstanding: 129 wickets in 68 innings at a superb average and economy rate, and more than 230 wickets in 160 T20s overall. In the ICC Men's T20I Bowling Rankings, Lamichhane is currently placed at No. 81, underlining his standing in the format.
Team officials at Rajshahi Warriors are confident that Lamichhaneβs combination of international experience, franchise exposure and wicket-taking ability will play a key role in their campaign. Bangladesh fans last saw him up close during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, when Nepal faced Bangladesh in the group stage; this time, he will share a dressing room with Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, who leads the Warriors.
The new season of the Bangladesh Premier League is scheduled to begin on December 26, starting with the Sylhet phase.
