Samjhana Khadka’s unbeaten 39 guided Nepal Women to a seven-wicket win over Malaysia Women in the second T20I at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur, on Friday.
The win sealed a 2-0 series sweep for Nepal, who had also won the first T20I by two wickets on Wednesday.
Chasing 83, Nepal reached 83/3 in 16 overs. Samjhana held the innings together after Nepal lost opener Kabita Joshi for a first-ball duck. She faced 37 balls and struck three fours.
Kabita Kunwar gave her strong support in the chase. She remained unbeaten on 19 off 20 balls, adding an unbroken 42-run stand with Samjhana for the fourth wicket. Sony Pakhrin also made 12.
Earlier, Malaysia chose to bat first but were restricted to 82/9 in 20 overs. Aina Hashim top-scored with 17, while Dhanusri Muhunan made 15. Ainna Natasa remained unbeaten on 13.
Nepal’s bowlers kept Malaysia under pressure throughout the innings. Kabita Kunwar, Riya Sharma and Rubina Chhetry took two wickets each. Kabita was especially economical, finishing with 2/10 from four overs, including two maidens.
Riya returned 2/14 from four overs, while Rubina gave away only five runs in two overs. Puja Mahato and Sita Rana Magar also took one wicket each.
The series served as preparation for Nepal and Malaysia ahead of upcoming regional assignments, including the Asian Games qualifiers and the ACC Premier Cup.
