Scotland defeat Nepal to win T20I Tri-Series title

Scotland emerged as the champions of the T20I Tri-Series after defeating Nepal by 34 runs in the final and decisive match of the tournament. The win helped Scotland top the points table based on net run rate (NRR), even though all three teams had four points each.

Batting first after winning the toss, Scotland posted a strong total of 193 for 5 in their 20 overs. George Munsey led the charge with a blistering knock of 78 runs off just 39 balls. He was well supported by Brandon McMullen, who made 42, and Michael Leask, who remained unbeaten on 26.

For Nepal, Kushal Bhurtel took 2 wickets, while Sandeep Lamichhane, Lalit Rajbanshi, and Rupesh Singh picked up a wicket each.

In reply, Nepal were bowled out for 159 in 18.5 overs. They struggled from the start, losing wickets at regular intervals and never quite getting into the chase. Surprisingly, Rupesh Singh, batting at number 8, was the top scorer with a quick 43 not out. DS Airee made 34 but took too many balls, while Rohit Paudel chipped in with 27. The rest of the batters failed to make an impact.

Chris Greaves was the pick of the bowlers for Scotland with 3 wickets, and Safyaan Sharif supported well with 2 wickets.

Had Nepal won the match, they would have claimed the tri-series title and wrapped the tour with a trophy. However, with this victory, Scotland secured the trophy on the basis of a superior net run rate.
