Kathmandu - Sony Pakhrin produced a superb all-round performance as Nepal Women U19 demolished Hong Kong Women U19 by 181 runs to finish unbeaten in the group stage of the ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup 2026.
Put in to bat after Hong Kong won the toss at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur, Nepal posted 211/6 in 20 overs. Sony led the innings with 90 off 60 balls, while Sabitri Dhami added 52 off 36 deliveries.

Hong Kong were then restricted to 30/9 in 20 overs. Sony completed her match-winning display with 4/4 from four overs and was named Player of the Match. Manisha Upadhayay was equally impressive with 2/1 from four overs, while Krishma Gurung and Sneha Mahara picked up one wicket each.
Hong Kong managed only three boundaries in the entire innings as Nepal sealed a crushing 181-runs victory.
The win helped Nepal finish top of Group D with six points from three matches. Nepal had the best net run rate among all teams in the group stage, ending with +7.283.
Nepal will now face Japan Women U19 in Quarter-final 4 at YSD UKM Oval, Bangi, on July 15. The match is scheduled for 4:00 PM AEST, which is 11:45 AM Nepal time.

Group A: Thailand-WU19 topped the group with four points and +6.250 NRR. Japan-WU19 finished second with two points, while Myanmar-WU19 ended third without a win.
Group B: UAE-WU19 finished first with four points and +3.385 NRR. Bhutan-WU19 came second with two points, while Oman-WU19 finished third.
Group C: Indonesia-WU19 topped the group with four points and +1.487 NRR. Malaysia-WU19 finished second with two points and a better NRR than Indonesia, while Kuwait-WU19 were third.
