West Indies has named a 15-member squad for the historic three-match Twenty20 International series against Nepal, to be played in Sharjah from 27-30 September.
Key players Shai Hope (captain), Alzarri Joseph, and Johnson Charles have been omitted from the squad, with West Indies choosing to give them a rest ahead of a busy international season.
In their absence, Akeal Hosein has been named captain for the Nepal tour, taking responsibility in both leadership and spin bowling departments. The rest of the squad includes established players like Fabian Allen, Jason Holder, and Kyle Mayers, who provide a backbone of experience to guide the less seasoned members.
A total of five players are likely to make their international debut during the series. Ackeem Auguste (Batter), Navin Bidaisee (All-rounder), Zishan Motara (Spinner), Ramon Simmonds (Pacer) and Amir Jangoo (Wicket-keeper) all included in the playing group.
This is the inaugural bi-lateral international series between the two teams after a successful "A" Team tour last year.
