The Lumbini Lions have made a big statement ahead of the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025, signing Afghanistan all-rounder Gulbadin Naib as their latest overseas recruit.
The franchise unveiled Naib in a striking promotional poster captioned "Welcome to the Den!", featuring the Afghan international alongside a roaring lion — symbolizing the team's fighting spirit. The announcement was made on the team's official social media handles on Monday evening.
Naib, who has been a regular feature in Afghanistan's national setup since his debut in 2011, brings with him a wealth of international experience. The 33-year-old has represented Afghanistan in ODIs, T20Is, and World Cups, and is known for his hard-hitting lower-order batting and steady medium-pace bowling.
His addition is expected to strengthen Lumbini's all-round department, adding depth to both batting and bowling.
