Chitwan Rhinos have signed Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza as an overseas player for the third season of the Nepal Premier League.
The 40-year-old brings extensive international and franchise experience to Chitwan, who are looking to improve after missing the playoffs in the second edition.
Raza, a Pakistan-born Zimbabwe international, made his international debut in 2013. The right-handed batter and off-spinner has since become one of Zimbabwe's leading players across formats.
He has also competed in major franchise tournaments including the Indian Premier League, Pakistan Super League, Bangladesh Premier League, Caribbean Premier League and International League T20.
Raza has won franchise titles with Lahore Qalandars in the PSL, Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL and Dubai Capitals in the ILT20.
He was one of Zimbabwe's standout performers at the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, playing important roles in their victories over Ireland and Pakistan.
The move marks Raza’s return to Nepalese franchise cricket. He represented Biratnagar Warriors in the 2021 Everest Premier League, scoring 129 runs and taking four wickets from five matches.
His ability to contribute in the middle order and provide an off-spin option gives Chitwan additional flexibility when selecting their overseas combination.
The Rhinos reached the Eliminator during the inaugural NPL season in 2024 after finishing third in the league stage. Their second campaign proved more difficult, with two wins from seven matches leaving them outside the playoffs.
Chitwan will hope Raza's experience in high-pressure international and franchise cricket can help them return to the knockout stage in 2026.
