KATHMANDU: Kushal Bhurtel continued his stunning form with another T20 International century as Nepal defeated Malaysia by 167 runs in the Asian Games Men's T20I Qualifier on Thursday.
Bhurtel struck 126 off 54 balls at the Singapore National Cricket Ground. He hit 14 fours and eight sixes in a dominant innings after Malaysia chose to field first.
It was Bhurtel's second century of the tournament and third in his T20I career, becoming Nepal's first batter to score three centuries in the format. He had scored 129 off 43 balls against China on May 31.
Bhurtel reached his fifty from 25 balls and completed his century from 44 balls. He added 134 runs for the first wicket with Aasif Sheikh, who made 68 off just 24 balls.
The innings also took Bhurtel to the top of Nepal's T20I run chart. He now has 2240 runs, moving past Dipendra Singh Airee, who has 2211.
