Tribhuvan Army Club produced a powerful batting display to beat Gandaki Province by seven wickets in Match 11 of the Men's PM Cup after chasing 210 with 16 overs to spare on Thursday at Lower Mulpani cricket ground in Kathmandu.
Earlier, Gandaki posted 209 in 49.4 overs, thanks largely to Arjun Kumal's 67 off 102 balls and Deepak Dumre's brisk 51 off 45. The pair helped steady the innings after early wickets, but Gandaki could not fully capitalize in the closing stages. Krishna Poudel added a late 17, while Subash Bhandari remained unbeaten on 10.
Army's bowlers shared the wickets around effectively. Aakash Chand and Shahab Alam picked up three wickets each, while Kushal Malla claimed two in an economical spell (10-1-18-2). That kept Gandaki just below the 210 mark despite a few useful middle-order contributions.
In reply, Army made their intent clear from the start. Openers Trit Raj Das and Binod Bhandari added 110 for the first wicket, laying the foundation for a comfortable chase. Trit made 51 off 51 balls, while Binod struck 58 off 57.
Although Army briefly lost three wickets for no addition to remain 110 for 3, Bhim Sharki and Kushal Malla quickly shut the door on any Gandaki comeback. Bhim remained unbeaten on 54 off 53 balls and Kushal finished 43 not out off 42 as Army raced to 210 for 3 in 34 overs.
The emphatic chase underlined Army's batting depth and lifted them to another win in the competition. They have earned four points from two matches.
