Kathmandu — Indu Barma struck 46 from 33 balls as Nepal APF Club Women defeated Bagmati Province Women by seven wickets on Monday to register their first NECOS Cup victory.
APF comfortably chased a target of 94 after restricting Bagmati to 93/8 in the ongoing NECOS Cup Women's National T20 Cricket Tournament.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl, APF made an excellent start by dismissing Kanchan Shrestha and Sony Pakhrin early.
Helisha Gurung attempted to rebuild Bagmati's innings, scoring 30 runs from 34 deliveries. Bipisha Shahi provided support with 19 from 30 balls, but APF continued to strike regularly and prevented Bagmati from building a substantial partnership.
Suman Bista led APF’s bowling attack with three wickets, while Rekha Rawal claimed two. Their disciplined spells kept Bagmati to 93 runs despite the contributions from Helisha and Bipisha.
In reply, APF lost three wickets but remained in control of the chase through Indu and Rajmati Airee.
Indu played the decisive innings, hitting 46 from only 33 deliveries. Rajmati anchored the other end with 34 from 45 balls as the pair accounted for 80 of APF’s runs.
Their contributions carried APF to 94/3 and completed a convincing seven-wicket victory.
Indu was named Player of the Match for her match-winning innings.
