Bagmati Province registered a dominant 170-run victory over Gandaki Province in Match 7 of the Men's PM Cup after combining a strong batting display with a disciplined all-round bowling effort.
Batting first, Bagmati built their innings on solid contributions through the order. Ashutosh Ghiraiya anchored the top order with 59 off 87 balls, while Shubh Kansakar provided early momentum with a brisk 44 off 28. Ishan Pandey then took charge in the middle overs, scoring 71 off 61 balls with four fours and two sixes to keep the innings moving toward a big total.
Bagmati continued to collect useful runs late in the innings through Uttam Magar's 30, Bibek Magar's 27 and an unbeaten 26 from captain Sandeep Lamichhane, finishing on 294 for 8 in 50 overs. For Gandaki, Kamal Pariyar was the most successful bowler with 2 for 56, while the rest of the attack struggled to contain Bagmati's depth.
In reply, Gandaki lost wickets at regular intervals and never got close to the chase. Arjun Kumal was the lone major resistance, making 74 off 90 balls with 11 fours, but he lacked lasting support from the other end. Subash Bhandari scored 29, and extras contributed 15, but no other batter reached double figures.
Bagmati's bowlers kept the pressure on throughout the chase. Rijan Dhakal led the way with 3 for 31, while Sandeep Lamichhane and Ishan Pandey claimed two wickets each. Dayanand Mandal and Subash Khatri also chipped in as Gandaki were bowled out for 124 in 31.5 overs.
The result gave Bagmati their first win of the campaign and a valuable boost in the early points table.
