Birgunj - Koshi Province Women booked their place in the NECOS Cup Women’s National T20 Tournament final with an eight-run win over Bagmati Province Women at the TB Shah Cricket Ground on Friday.
Rain reduced the semi-final to 10 overs per side. Bagmati won the toss and elected to field first, but Koshi built a competitive total through an unbeaten 46-run stand between Kajal Shrestha and Rubina Chhetry.
Rubina remained unbeaten on 31 off 22 balls, while Kajal played a composed 29 not out from 27 deliveries. Earlier, Apsari Begum added 9 off 11 balls before Kanchan Shrestha picked up Bagmati’s only wicket of the innings.
Bagmati came under pressure early in the chase. Laxmi Maya Rumba gave them a brisk start with 14 off nine balls, while Bipisha Shahi added 11 from 13 deliveries. Ashmina Karmacharya remained unbeaten on 17 off 20 balls, but Bagmati could not get over the line.
Rubina completed her all-round performance with two wickets, while Apsari Begum, Tika Shahid and Alisa Khadiya picked up one wicket each to turn the match in Koshi's favour.
Rubina was named Player of the Match for her unbeaten 31 and two-wicket spell as Koshi sealed a place in the final.
