The conditions were deemed unsafe for play, disappointing fans who were eagerly waiting for the showdown between two strong contenders in the tournament.
Anyone winning today’s game would have advanced to the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026. However, with the washout, both teams were forced to share points—benefiting Afghanistan, who had a superior net run rate from their earlier matches.
As a result, Afghanistan U19 secure their spot in the U19 World Cup to be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia, while Nepal miss out despite a spirited campaign.
