Nepal announces U16 squad for East Zone Cup under the leadership of Bipin Sharma

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has officially unveiled the 14-member squad that will represent Nepal in the upcoming ACC Men’s U16 East Zone Cup, set to begin on June 22 in Malaysia.

The squad will be led by Bipin Sharma, a highly rated young talent who has previously represented Nepal U19 and made headlines as a prodigy during the inaugural Nepal Premier League (NPL). Supporting him as vice-captain is Suryanshu Koirala, another promising youngster with prior experience at the U16 level.

The team was selected based on performances in the recently concluded TB Shah Memorial U16 National Tournament held in Surkhet. Among the notable names in the squad are Sachin Bhatta, who impressed with his bowling throughout the national tournament, and Raunak Shriwastav, who smashed a remarkable double century, playing for Lumbini.

Nepal clinched the title of ACC U16 Eastern Region Tournament 2023 under the leadership of Abhisek Tiwari. They defeated Malaysia by a heavy margin in the final to bring the trophy home.
