Nepal have been drawn in Group B alongside Scotland, Thailand, Zimbabwe and the Netherlands for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Global Qualifier, with the tournament scheduled to run from January 14 to February 1, 2026 in Nepal.
The released schedule confirms a 10-team event split into two groups, with Bangladesh, Ireland, Papua New Guinea (PNG), Namibia and USA placed in Group A. Matches will be staged across TU Cricket Ground and Mulpani Cricket Ground (Upper and Lower), putting Nepal at the centre of a busy three-venue window.
Nepal's preparations will begin with warm-up games before the league phase starts. As per the fixtures, Nepal will face Ireland on January 14 at Lower Mulapani Cricket Ground, followed by a second warm-up against USA on January 16 at TU Cricket Ground. These matches provide Nepal an opportunity to settle into conditions and finalise combinations ahead of a demanding group stage against a mix of experienced Associate sides.
In the group stage, Nepal open their Group B campaign against Thailand on January 18 at Upper Mulapani Cricket Ground. The schedule then has Nepal meeting the Netherlands on January 22, again at Upper Mulapani, before shifting to TU Cricket Ground for two successive fixtures — against Zimbabwe on January 24 and Scotland on January 26.
With four league matches spread across nine days, Nepal will need consistency with both bat and ball to stay in contention through the phase. Newly appointed Nepal women's team coach Harshal Pathak has laid out a clear blueprint for the national side, promising to build a fearless playing culture that prioritises self-reliant decision-making, stronger consistency and better pressure management as Nepal prepares for major ICC competitions at home.
