
KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has awarded the media and ticketing rights for the third edition of the Nepal Premier League following the completion of its bidding and procurement process.
The three agreements have a combined fixed value of Rs 33.53 crore, approximately US$2.21 million based on Nepal Rastra Bank’s September 7 exchange rate.
NetTV Pvt. Ltd. secured the worldwide over-the-top streaming rights for Rs 18.04 crore, equivalent to approximately US$1.19 million.
Himalaya Television Network Pvt. Ltd. acquired the linear television rights within Nepal for Rs 14.64 crore, approximately US$966,000.
eSewa Ltd. secured the tournament’s ticketing rights for Rs 85 lakh, equivalent to approximately US$56,000.
CAN’s statement also said that, under the agreed commercial terms, the association will receive 15 percent of the revenue generated through ticketing, while eSewa will receive five percent.
The governing body congratulated NetTV, Himalaya Television and eSewa on securing the respective rights and expressed its commitment to working with the three partners to make the third NPL season more organised, successful and effective.
The announcement confirms the principal broadcast, streaming and ticketing partners for the upcoming tournament.
The US dollar figures are approximate and were calculated using Nepal Rastra Bank’s September 7 selling rate of NPR 151.48 per US dollar.
