Charith Asalanka is a Sri Lankan professional cricketer who currently captains the Sri Lanka national team in the ODI format. He is an aggressive left-handed middle-order batsman and a handy part-time off-spin bowler.

Asalanka made his international debut for Sri Lanka in June 2021 against England in an ODI match. He was the top run-scorer for Sri Lanka in the 2021 T20 World Cup, where he accumulated 231 runs at an average of 46.20. In 2024, he was named the captain of the national ODI and T20I teams, a testament to his leadership qualities and performance.

He also plays in various franchise leagues, including for the Mumbai Indians and the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.
