KATHMANDU: The 2026 edition of the Prime Minister Cup Men's National Cricket Tournament is set to kick off on March 21, with matches scheduled to take place at the Kirtipur (Tribhuwan University Ground), Kathmandu (Upper Mulpani), Janakpur (Shree Ram Janaki International Ground), and Parsa (Narayani Cricket Ground).
The tournament will feature the traditional 50-over format with teams representing the seven provinces and three departmental sides (Army, Police, and APF). The opening day will see Koshi Province take on Madhesh in Janakpur, while Lumbini faces Karnali in Parsa.
Key Matchups and Venues
The departmental giants will begin their campaign on March 22 at the TU Ground with a high-stakes clash between Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club. Meanwhile, the Upper Mulpani ground will host Bagmati vs APF on the same day.
The group stages will run until April 15, with matches played simultaneously across the four designated grounds. The tournament schedule is designed with strategic rest days to manage player workload throughout the month-long competition.
The Road to the Final
According to the released fixtures, the league phase will culminate in the middle of April. After weeks of intense cricketing action, the tournament will reach its peak on April 17, when the grand finale is scheduled to take place to crown the new national champion at the Narayani Cricket Ground in Birgunj.
