KATHMANDU: Rubina Chhetry delivered with both bat and ball as Nepal Women defeated Bhutan Women by 51 runs in the ACC Women's T20I Premier Cup on Thursday.
Nepal were bowled out for 113 in 20 overs after Bhutan chose to field first at the Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar Cricket Oval, Mantin. Sita Rana Magar top-scored with 37 off 28 balls, hitting six fours.
Rubina added an important 24 off 21 balls late in the innings. Samjhana Khadka made 10, while Sony Pakhrin scored 13.
For Bhutan, Sonam and Tshering Zangmo took three wickets each. Anju Gurung picked up two wickets.
Chasing 114, Bhutan were restricted to 62/8 in 20 overs. Dechen Wangmo carried the innings with an unbeaten 39 off 60 balls, but Nepal kept taking wickets at regular intervals.
Rubina was Nepal’s best bowler, taking 3/15 from four overs. Riya Sharma picked up 2/20, while Kabita Kunwar and Manisha Upadhayay took one wicket each.
The win gave Nepal their second straight victory in Group D. Nepal had earlier defeated Qatar Women by eight wickets in their opening match.
