The Cricket Association of Nepal has approved the income and expenditure report of the first two editions of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) during its annual general meeting in Biratnagar.
The AGM, which concluded on Sunday, also decided to distribute NRs 200,000 each to 45 district cricket associations from the income generated by the NPL. The move is aimed at supporting cricket activities at district level across the country.
CAN also endorsed the audit report for fiscal year 2081/82 and passed its annual programme, action plan and budget for 2026.
The central executive committee has been authorised to adjust the budget and programmes if additional events are received from the ACC or ICC during the year.
The AGM also decided to provide scorecard grants to district cricket associations based on the programmes they conduct. The grant is expected to support local-level match operations and record keeping.
In another notable decision, CAN will start holding its annual awards every December from this year. The awards will include categories for best men's player, best women's player, best youth player, lifetime achievement and moment of the year.
The decisions come as CAN looks to link the commercial growth of the NPL with wider domestic cricket development, particularly through direct financial support to district associations.
