Armed Police Force Club returned to winning ways with a 45-run victory over Sudurpashchim Province in Match 30 of the PM Cup after Sundeep Jora's half-century and Yuvraj Khatri's five-wicket haul shaped the result at the Ramjanki Multipurpose Stadium, Janakpur.
APF had come into the game after losses to Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province in their previous two matches. This time, they built a stronger batting effort and then held their nerve with the ball.
Batting first, APF posted 259 for 9 in 50 overs. Jora led the innings with 55 off 45 balls, hitting nine fours and a six. Dipak Bohara made 46, Lokesh Bam added 47 and Sumit Maharjan scored 41, while late runs from Kamal Airee and Amar Routela pushed the total beyond 250.
Sudurpashchim shared the wickets around. Sher Malla was the most successful bowler with 3 for 45, while Bikash Aagri and Ashok Dhami took two wickets each.
Sudurpashchim stayed in the chase for long periods. Abhishek Pal made 44, Dipak Bohara contributed 24, and Ashok Dhami struck a fighting 50 off 43 balls. At 152 for 5 in the 36th over, they were still in contention.
APF, however, pulled the game back through Yuvraj. He finished with 5 for 34 in 10 overs and broke the chase open in the second half. Avishek Gautam supported him with 2 for 32 as Sudur Paschim were bowled out for 214 in 46.3 overs.
The win gave APF a timely response after consecutive defeats, while Sudurpashchim could not follow up their big win over Bagmati with another result.
