Kathmandu Metropolitan City beat Biratnagar Metropolitan City by three wickets at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, with Shivam Tiwari's 55 off 35 leading the chase in the PL Singh Memorial T20 Cup 2026.
Set 143 after choosing to bowl first, KMC reached the target for the loss of 7 wicket in 18 overs. Tiwari gave the chase its main thrust, scoring at a strike rate of 157.14 with six fours and three sixes before Pratik Pokharel bowled him in the 13th over.
Rit Gautam added a sharp 25 off 14 to keep Kathmandu ahead of the required rate. Even after Biratnagar struck late, Nitesh Kumar held his nerve and finished the chase with a six off Krish Sharma, ending unbeaten on 12 from 12 balls.
Biratnagar had earlier posted 142 for 8 in their 20 overs after KMC won the toss and chose to bowl. Sujan Thapaliya top-scored with 39 off 28, while Deepak Paswan contributed 29 off 24.
KMC's bowlers shared the pressure through the innings. Krish Karki returned 2 for 13 from three overs, while Bishal Phuyal took 2 for 21 from three overs to help restrict Biratnagar to a reachable total.
Biratnagar stayed in the contest through Pratik Pokharel, who finished with 2 for 17 from four overs, and Krish Sharma, who also took two wickets. But Kathmandu had done enough early in the chase, and Nitesh’s final-over six sealed the result with two overs unused.
