Sundeep Jora's 83 not out steers Nepal A past Scotland in rain-hit thriller

Sundeep Jora's unbeaten 83 guided Nepal A to a 9-run DLS win over Scotland in a rain-affected Match 5 of the Nepal A One-Day Series at Mulpani.

Scotland posted 302 for 8 in their 50 overs, but rain halted Nepal A's chase at 34.5 overs with the home side on 204 for 4. Under the DLS method, Nepal A were set a target of 196 at that stage, leaving them nine runs ahead and sealing the result.

Scotland's innings was built around several useful contributions rather than one dominant stand. Opener George Munsey top-scored with 62 off 51 balls, while Michael English remained unbeaten on 56 from 56. Richie Berrington made 40, Brandon McMullen added 39, and Jack Jarvis struck 30 off 20 late in the innings.

Nepal A kept taking wickets often enough to stop Scotland from running away completely. Aakash Chand was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 59, while Sher Malla, Bipin Khatri, Pawan Sarraf and Kushal Malla claimed one wicket each.

In reply, Nepal A lost Mayan Yadav and Trit Raj Das with 45 on the board, but Ishan Pandey and Jora rebuilt the chase calmly. Ishan made 50 off 53 balls with seven fours, while Jora played the decisive innings with 83 not out off 94 deliveries, hitting nine boundaries.

Basir Ahamad added 20, and Jora stayed firm through the interruptions in momentum. When rain stopped play at 34.5 overs, Basir had just fallen for 20, but Nepal A had already moved far enough ahead of the adjusted target.

Kushal Malla was yet to score at the non-striker's end when the match was called, while Nepal A's total of 204 for 4 proved enough for victory.

The win gave Nepal A another win in the series. Earlier, they defeated Scotland by 45 runs and successfully chased the target by 3 wickets against the United States.
